Pineapple and passionfruit juice blend nicely to make this wonderful Malibu rum recipe.
It is best if you use fresh pressed fruit juice.  This makes it taste better, and is better for you.
This can also be used as a tropical shot as the recipe can easily be scaled.

Don't have Malibu coconut rum? Then try Parrot Bay, Three Palms or Cruzan coconut rums.

Lick of Sunshine Recipe:
Ingredients
• 1 part Malibu
• 1 part Pineapple Juice
• 1 Whole Passion Fruit

Mixing Instructions:
Mix the Malibu and pineapple with ice in a highball by stirring.
Juice the passionfruit by squeezing the fruit into the glass.
Str again.
Garnish with passion fruit slice and pineapple.

Tropical Itch Ingredients
• 1 oz. of a Light Rum (Bacardi, Cruzan, Ronrico Silver, Appleton, etc)
• 1 oz. Vodka (Smirnoff, Grey Goose, Absolut, Skyy, etc.)
• 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
• 4 oz. Passion Fruit Juice

Tropical Itch Drink Recipe Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker until cold and frosty.
Then pour into an interesting shaped glass. Add Crushed Ice and your choice of garnish.

Here´s two recipes for the classic tropical cocktail the Hurricane, one is the basic one and the other the common recipe today. The Hurricane cocktail is still being served at Pat O`Briens in New Orleans where the drink originated.

Hurricane Cocktail Drink

Basic Hurricane recipe:

• 1.5 oz light rum (Cruzan, Barcardi, etc.)
• 1.5 oz dark rum (Trader Vic's, Myers rum)
• 1 oz passionfruit juice or syrup (Trader Vic's)
• ¾ oz fresh lime juice

Shake in a cocktail shaker with ice until frosty and then strain into a Hurricane glass filled with ice.

Common Hurricane recipe:

• 1.5 oz light rum
• 1.5 oz dark rum
• 1 oz fresh orange juice
• 1 oz fresh lime juice
• 1/4 cup passion fruit juice, or 1 tablespoon passion fruit syrup
• 1 oz simple syrup (sugar water)
• 1 teaspoon grenadine
Stemmed cherries, and orange slice as a garnish
Ice cubes or crushed ice.

Hurricane Cocktail Mixing Instructions:
Half fill a Hurricane glass with crushed ice. Shake all ingredients and strain into the glass. Add more ice if needed and garnish with an orange slice and stemmed cherry.

  •  1 1/2 Part White Rum (Cruzan, Bacardi, etc.)

  •  1/2 Part Amaretto

  •  1/2 Coconut Cream

  •  2 Parts Pineapple Juice

  •  1 Part Passion Fruit juice 

  •  1 1/2 Parts Heavy Cream

Shake in cocktail shaker until cold a frosty.

Pour into glass of ice.

Garnish with pineapple and cherry.
